This was a show I had been waiting for for what seems like years. The last time I remember Queens of the Stone Age playing the D.C.-area was at the 9:30 Club way back in 2005 or 2006. I had seen them at the ACL Festival in 2007 and again in Austin at SXSW in 2010, but I wanted to see them on my home turf! Josh and the band were in fine form and I even held it together when they played my favorite Queens song of all time “You Think I Ain’t  Worth A Dollar, But I feel Like A Millionaire” as the first song in the set. Sadly, I couldn’t really hear it since I was concentrating on shooting, but I did enjoy the lights during that song. They were the only decent light we got. Songs two and three were red and then green, so that coupled with our shooting position on the very sides of the photo pit made for some tough conditions. That said, I was happy with the shots I ended up with.
