I shot the Avett’s once before, at DAR Constitution Hall, and really liked the photos I came away with that night, but unfortunately this show wasn’t as good shooting wise. That was because the stage had a platform that extended out into the crowd and that made us pick a side to shoot from. I chose stage right, and it was fine for getting shots of both brothers in the same frame, but between the band’s lack of movement and the so-so lighting, there just wasn’t a variety of shots to be had. Certainly nothing like this. This year that shot came out like this.
