Instead of the usual order of artist performances from opener to headliner, Lee Brice conducted his show at the Fillmore Silver Spring as a type of songwriters in the round event. The first event in this years Ertegun Jazz Series was held last month in conjunction with Black History Month. Acclaimed vocalist Michael Mwenso put on quite a show and I was there to document it all. Every few months the Embassy of Turkey hosts a jazz concert as part of their Coca-Cola Jazz Series to honor the legacy of music industry titan Ahmet Ertegun and they contract me to take photos of the reception and the concert.
