Opening for Queens of the Stone Age, St. Vincent’s performance was much more subdued than her 9:30 Club show earlier in the year. That show was was dynamic, intriguing and fantastic in every way. This show was lacking a lot of those elements. It’s worth noting that this show was not for her own audience, so that probably had a lot to do with it. Plus we were saddled with shooting positions from the side of the stage with no access to the middle of the pit. That made for a serious lack of epic shredding photos. Boo.
