Here’s a blurry photo taken with my iPhone of my photo of Chuck Brown, the Godfather of Go-Go Music and one of D.C.’s favorite sons, being featured on the 2013 Grammy Award telecast during the show’s “In Memorium” segment . It’s by far the biggest placement of my career. The Grammy production office contacted me two weeks ago asking to license the image and I was happy to make that deal. The pricing is done on a most-favored nations basis – meaning all photogs are paid the same amount for the photos shown on the telecast, which makes sense so one photog can’t hi-jack the budget – so it was an easy negotiation. It’s also a pretty great tearsheet.
