I’ve been on a serious soul/R&B kick the latter part of this year (I’ll publish my favorite albums list a bit later but if I was honest, I listened to A LOT of James Brown this year) so it was natural that I’d be in the house when Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings played D.C. a week ago. This was a holiday show in conjunction with the group’s holiday album and it was awesome and so much fun. Sharon’s had some health issues recently but you would never know by her performance. She hit all the notes and then some. You need to see these guys when they come to your town.
