Tove Lo @ 9:30 Club

I love Tove Lo. Love, love, love her. And not just because of my Swedish heritage. Her debut album, Queen of the Clouds, is some of the catchiest, smarter and sexually forward pop music being made these days. She slots in quite nicely between Lykke Li and Robyn. And that’s a great place to be. I caught her at this year’s Sweetlife Festival and didn’t know much about her but was quickly won over. So of course I was excited to see her do her own show at the fabled 9:30 Club. And I happy to report that she did not disappoint. Far from it, in fact. She was a dynamo on stage and her band did a great job mixing pre-programmed beats with their live instrumentation. My only complaint was the extremely tiny photo pit and the PBS video crew that camped out ion the middle of the pit which kept me on one side of the pit the entire time I was shooting. Oh well!
