Last Saturday some friends and I hopped in a car and drove an hour south to catch Diarrhea Planet play the last show on their never-ending tour before they return to the studio to record their next record. The show was a gig for Fredericksburg All Ages, a nonprofit that puts on concerts for the teenagers in the area. This was also my first ever Diarrhea Planet show as I refuse to go to the venue in D.C. where they usually play. To say I was excited would be an understatement.
The show more than lived up to my sky-high expectations. So. Much., Hair. Flipping. It was incredible. The band were great sports as well. Jordan Smith played to my camera for the first few songs and Evan Bird stuck his tongue out at me every time I tried to take his photo. The show was a barrage of monster riffs, big, fuck-off choruses and long hair flying everywhere. It was so much fun to see and to shoot. Can’t wait to see these guys again.
