This was my third time seeing The Pixies since they reformed about 10 years ago, and my second time shooting them. And once again, venue restrictions kept me from being able to get a good variety of photos, but at least we were granted use of the aisles during a very short first three songs. I was happier with those photos even if there are backs of heads in the frames. Oh well. The band was in great form. Yes, it was a bit of a bummer without Kim, but at the end of the evening, I had no complaints about the gig. They even played a few songs off of Trompe Le Monde!

March 20, 2014 at 6:38 pmHi Nygel,
It depends on the show and the performer. Generally you are stuck shooting from the sides, but sometimes they give you access to the aisles. It also depends on if the crowd sits or stands. If everyone is sitting, they generally don’t like you blocking people’s views, so you are stuck on the side.
