Seeing A$AP Ferg and his crew perform “Shabba” at this summer’s Trillectro Festival was one of the high moments of concert going for me in 2013. He had the entire crowd signing along and going crazy during his performance. So I was excited about seeing Ferg in a venue the size of the Howard. Unfortunately, this show didn’t live up to his summer performance. He didn’t take the stage until almost midnight (a full 90 minutes after the openers finished), and then spent the rest of the night shaming the audience for not being more energetic. Plus, he only did four songs before turning the show over to his crew for an extended set of their own. I’m sure he came back out and did more of his material, but I didn’t stick around to find out.
SHOOTING NOTES: Again, the lighting at the Howard was not very good for this show. Deep, deep reds with little to no spotlights.
