I can’t say I’m a fan of this new folk movement that seems to be taking over. Not a huge Mumford & Sons fan and I can say the same thing about The Lumineers. Something about these guys just rubs me the wrong way. It’s like they are trying to hard to be earnest. But they’re huge now because of their hit “Ho Hey” and I was at DAR to check ’em out when they came through D.C. a few weeks ago.
Their show wasn’t much to speak of, but that’s not uncommon when a band gets huge out of nowhere. Their stage show hasn’t had a chance to catch up with their level of fame. Lights for this show were average and the small area we shot from was packed with photos, including a few that didn’t realize that by moving around, everyone gets a chance to get shots from all the available angles. This was a show that really needed a photo pit. OK, I’ll stop complaining now.
