This was the type of assignment that I hate to love. A hip-hop show that runs 90 minutes late, with an unruly crowd and a performer that only riles them up more. I was miserable waiting for this show to start, but once it did, I had a great time fighting off the crowd and shooting at the same time.

Seriously, the girls up front were climbing over me to try and touch Yo Gotti. It was pretty intense. It was so bad the bouncer at the front of the stage moved to the side of the stage. Unfortunately I didn’t have that option, so I stood my ground, got what I needed in the first four songs or so and then got out of there. I was basically shooting with one hand and steadying myself/fighting for space with the other hand.

I wasn’t a fan of the 3 opening acts on this bill (!!) but Yo Gotti was great. It’s easy to see why he has such a fervent fan base. I wanted to hate him so much for making us wait so long for him to start his set, but I couldn’t. He’s the goods.
