I have been wanting and waiting to shoot Erykah Badu for what seems like the longest times. Many of my friends have some amazing images of her performing and I was very eager to add a similar image to my portfolio. Sadly this was not to be on this night. Badu came out in a tan Burberry overcoat and basically stood there for the duration of our (very short) shooting time. It’s hard to capture the mood and feeling of a concert in the first five minutes of the show and I definitely feel like these photos are a bitlacking, but one of the first things you learn as a concert photographer is all you can do is work with what you are given.
