While I’ve always been a fan of The Walkmen, they were never one of my favorite bands. That is, until what turned out to be their final album, which is still in heavy rotation for me. I was really bummed to miss their last ever performance, late last year here in D.C. So I was pretty excited to check out the band’s lead singer Hamilton Leithauser when his first ever solo tour rolled through D.C. Hamilton’s solo stuff isn’t far off from The Walkmen, and that’s a good thing as far as I am concerned. I was quite pleased with the setlist for this show. I got to hear my two favorite songs, “Alexandra” and “11 O’Clock Friday Night” while I was shooting. Bonus! And yes, there were many social media jokes made about Hamilton playing The Hamilton, including the one that probably brought you to this page. Welcome!
