While I love shooting country shows (they are by far the most entertaining and worthwhile large-scale shows to shoot), I don’t really count myself as a country music fan. Especially when it concerns modern, pop-leaning country. Florida Georgia Line is the exception, however. I love them. They put on a great show and I really like their songs. Great melodies and HUGE choruses, these guys are ready for shows in large places like Nationals Park. They know how to work a crowd and the shortened set lets them focus on their hits. Their opening set for Jason Aldean was a masterclass in getting someone else’s crowd to shop what they are doing and pay attention. That’s no small feat.
SHOOTING NOTES: First three from the soundboard. Pretty Standard. One thing to note, this tour had the lowest stage I have ever seen for a stadium show. I was worried that i was only going to get waist up shots once the crowd threw their hands up, but the stool I brought provided enough clearance. Unfortunately I can’t share my Jason Aldean photos from this show because of the very restrictive photo release I was forced to sign. Boo.
