One of the best (and worst) things about shooting for the Washington Post is going to shoot artists that I know nothing about. Sometimes they aren’t my thing and I hate that particular assignment, sometimes the artist is good but the shooting conditions suck, and every once in a while I get blown away by an act I was totally unprepapred to be blown away by. Like Jessica Lea Mayfield at Iota.
I’ll let the Post’s David Malitz describe Mayfield’s somewhat morose, but hauntingly beautiful music in more expressive terms, but let me just say I was pretty blown away by this show. This girl has it. Keep an eye on her, big things await.
Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook if you want to stay current with what I am shooting.
