Normally things like confetti canons get saved for late in the set and well after my three song limit is through, but that was not the case during last week’s OK Go concert at the 9:30 Club. First song! I was so excited I wanted to run on stage and high five everyone in the band. And not only did we get the canons during the first song, but the band used them again in the third song. Bonus!
Lighting for this show was pretty great, no complaints at all. Lead singer Damian Kulash was an easy target during this shoot, staying front and center most of the time. The guitarist and bassist weren’t lit as well, so getting good shots of them turned out to be tricky. I decided to go wide and try and get them in the frame along with Kulash and that proved a bit easier.
I shot this show with my Nikon D3 and 24-70/2.8 along with my Nikon D700 and 70-200/2.8 VR I.
